This verse has always been a favorite of mine, (and with the help of a book I'm currently reading), I came across it again. Isn't it awesome how the Lord can show us new things with passages we've read over and over?... He truly makes all things new! I love that! So, previously reading this verse, I know that when coming to God for anything, we must have that FAITH in Him to do as He says... but something that kinda leaped off the page for me today was real life application... WHAT ARE YOU DOING RIGHT NOW THAT REQUIRES FAITH? This question can affect us deeply, for He calls us to trust Him so completely that we are unafraid to put ourselves in situations where we will be in trouble if He doesn't come through. Verses abound that read such as: "we live by faith, walk by faith..." Therefore, we must have an attitude of faith in all things.
It's easy to place ourselves in the comfortable, where it becomes a temptation to trust in our own strength.
So this verse brings a reminder to place ourselves in a position to ask, "What am I doing right now that requires faith?" I think asking this question allows us to see those areas in which we are fully relying on our Father. This is where He wants us, in a place of total dependence on Him. For He who promises is faithful!
